KidsMBA is offered through the examination board ABE which has been running professional business qualifications since 1973 in more than 30 countries around the world.
ABE is regulated in the United Kingdom by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (OfQual) a non-ministerial government department that regulates qualifications, exams, and tests in England. Muthelo College is accredited to run KidsMBA in South Africa, although it is not a credit bearing qualification, it has been developed with the same approach to quality and rigour which underpins our regulated qualifications.
After completing the ABE Endorsed KidsMBA programme the following ABE regulated qualifications are open to students at age 14: Level 2 Award in Setting Up Your Own Business and, Level 3 Certificate in Business Start-Up.
ABE provides regulated qualifications up to Level 6, equivalent to a bachelor's degree.

KidsMBA is an exciting programme endorsed by ABE UK [Advancing Business Education] which holds an excellent global reputation in developing and awarding outstanding business, management and workplace skills through their internationally recognised and OFQUAL regulated qualifications. ABE is an awarding body based in the UK and was established 47 years ago with a clear social purpose to make quality business education available and accessible worldwide. Hence they work with schools to develop business and entrepreneurial know-how in children whilst through their network of high-quality accredited TVET centers, it enables adults to become professionally qualified business practitioners at any age or stage in their career, frequently providing a pathway to higher education for people whom it would not otherwise have been accessible. ABE UK has partnered with Muthelo College to be the implementer of KidsMBA programme in South Africa. Muthelo is a 100% black owned company based in South Africa with a focus in B-BBEE ratings, skills training and learnership programs, ISO training and Consulting services. The programme develops real-world business and entrepreneurial skills in children at age 11 to 16. The objective of the programme is not to just educate kids on entrepreneurship but rather to train them through practical experience and put them in an environment that encourages confidence whilst developing a practical understanding of what starting, running and growing a business entails, sparking a desire to build on their knowledge by pursuing further business studies.
KidsMBA also fosters other skills and behaviours beyond just learning. The course promotes the ability to identify problems and proactively find creative solutions. It advocates self-reliance, confidence, taking responsibility, speaking clearly and effectively, working as a member of a team, critically assessing the value of information, and sharing ideas in a persuasive and engaging manner.
Through project-based learning, children are motivated in their wider pursuits. With KidsMBA they are encouraged to relate their own entrepreneurial instincts to other activities they enjoy and care about. This entrepreneurial talent can then be nurtured and polished throughout a child’s school life.
ABE Endorsed KidsMBA has been identified in Forbes as a leading global programme in early entrepreneurial education. Earlier interventions can develop non-cognitive skills, which are key to entrepreneurial success, such as creativity, persistence, and communication.
The creator of KidsMBA, Professor Mark Watson-Gandy, took 3 years to write the ABE Endorsed KidsMBA with the input of a panel of entrepreneurs and industry experts from a vast range of disciplines such as Law, Education, Banking and Accountancy This ABE Endorsed KidsMBA is a unique programme which introduces children the core, essential skills for running a business, through complex business concepts making them fun and engaging through interactive activities These skills can be developed throughout school life, culminating in a successful start-up business that focuses on local socio- economic opportunities.
